April Days is Mike Frazier’s seventh album. It is undoubtedly a record made out of necessity for Frazier to heal from brain surgery. The record is the listener’s avenue to dive deep into Frazier’s psyche through his physical and mental suffering, the strength in the pain of healing in all forms, and applying it to the world. Throughout the songs, his story transcends his recovery and himself. The somber ballads are balanced with upbeat melodies in the same way the human experience is the tightrope of darkness and light both within ourselves and around us all. In Frazier’s most introspective, vulnerable, and personal collection of songs to date we find a diary of suffering leading to an epilogue of triumph. While the majority of this album tells the story of Frazier’s personal journey, its story required the talent of an impressive circle of artists to come to life in the way that it does on this album, mirroring the way Frazier found hope through misery with love by his side. It is Frazier’s first album recorded in Seattle, Washington embracing the west coast air throughout his rehabilitation to fuel him to continuously move forward. The album is also an ode to Frazier’s love for the Pacific NorthWest and a call to end all wars worldwide. April Days seeks to take the listener through a journey of discovering the peace amidst the agony both personally and on a global scale. The collection was recorded live in a basement in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood on the unceded ancestral lands of the Duwamish people. Frazier enlisted musician’s from both East and West coasts to perform the songs in the basement with him.

Mike Frazier holds raffle for original artwork

From Mike Frazier - “Hello friends! I’m very pleased to announce I’ll be raffling off the original artwork by Ursula Bell as well as a copy of the LP. This piece was created to represent the album’s over arching theme of escaping pain and sorrow. It was a mixture of a photograph by Stephanie Bruno and Ursula’s own artistic eye. Here’s how it’ll work: Venmo @Michael-Frazier or PayPal (mikeygenevarecords@gmail.com). A donation of $10 gets you 1 entry (so $100 would count as 10 entries.) You must include your email or full name for a chance to win! ALL proceeds from this raffle will go directly to @colorofchange The raffle will end on June 22nd.”

GENEVA RECORDS RELAUNCH 2016 ANNOUNCEMENT

We started Geneva in 2015 without many long term goals. I was putting out a record and wanted a home to release vinyl. We thought maybe we would put together a compilation, or do a few small releases here and there, but never made any grandiose plans. As the year passed by, I fell in love with the music of two bands. Both MODERN LIVES and ASSOCIATIONS put out fantastic records, and I got really excited about their potential and future releases. I had a conversation with Rob (Blackwell, Label Manager), and we decided to approach both bands and see what they thought about working with us on their next release. Fortunately for us, both bands were incredibly receptive to the idea. To sort of establish the label as an entity with two artists we’re both really passionate about is a real blessing for Geneva.
